This collective study presents and analyzes the problems and challenges the UNESCO had to face when initiating the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, along with the measures that were taken to regulate and measure cultural diversity in the audiovisual field (movies, television, radio, recorded music, and videogames.) It offers some solutions to cultural and communication policies, and good practices, along with the proposal of indicators to perceive diversity on television; finally, it addresses the future challenges for networks and digital media.
